*swish swoosh glitter and confetti*

And... what do y'all think? It was a bit of a magic trick (especially because computer-talk sounds alien to me), but with a little help from the internet (Google gets what I need in time of crisis) I've pimped my ride. Owh yeah.

It was quite a hazzle, especially when actually deciding to just do it. And then you do it and everything goes wrong and you're just sitting there crying to yourself "WHY DID I JUST DO IT???!!!!", "EVERYTHING'S RUINED!!" and my favourite "AAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!". But everything turned out fine. Just fine. (except for this weird thing whereby under the posts there's this bit with a picture of a woman who's not me and none-words scribbled at the side of it and I don't know how to change it or to get rid of it or idk burn it down and please help me please).

For a while now I was feeling that we needed a change (we in the sense of I, but I think we -I- can both agree on it). A new look means a fresh start (or an old start that's just trying to mislead you in thinking that I'm a profound blogging person who knows her shit. I don't know shit, but just looking like you're acquaintances must be good for business, amiright?). So what can you expect from the new and approved Fashioned by Pluche?

Basically the same ol' shit.

But that's alright, right? Right? Guys? Where are you going? Guys?

So yeah, new look and new stuff (maybe) coming your way. What do y'all think of it? You like it? (you better like it because there's been blood, sweat and tears into getting this thing running. Or more like slow motion walking).

Also look at my new notebook and mug, aren't they cute?

Love,
Dominique

This recipe is gluten free.
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Watch here.

The other day I've made a gluten free chocolate cake and thought it to be fun to share the recipe of it with the world... I must say that it has a very rich taste and is certainly appropriate for the ultimate chocolate-loving person.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED
  • Baking mix
  •  Water (165 ml)
  • Two eggs
  • Butter (60 g)

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Preheat the oven at 180 degrees.
  • Put the baking mix, water, two eggs and butter into a mixing bowl.
  • Blend everything together into a smooth substance.
  • Pour everything into a greased cake tin.
  • Put the tin into the oven for 30-35 minutes.
  • Get everything out, let it cool down and tada, your cake is ready to be served (and eaten)!

Eet smakelijk!

Love,
Dominique

Jumper: H&M
Trousers: Vanilia
Coat: Charity shop
Fedora hat: Primark
Plateau boots: H&M
Sunglasses: Etos
Necklace: Some weird shop in Amsterdam
Lipstick: Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet #01 Personne Ne Rouge!

Look at that sunset!

It's officially spring, but I wouldn't say it'd be wise to pack up all your jumpers and other knitwear (although who's to say that you can't wear knits in spring/summer? A fools!). Actually at the moment I'm busy making a long crochet cardigan. More about that soon(ish)...

Last week -when these pictures were taken- was quite blue-tinted. I don't know why, but every day of the week (with an unexplained exception for Friday when I had to go to college) I wore something blue. Now I wouldn't say that I'm a very blue minded girl, but the blues can hit you at any moment and without any hesitation you'll be copying cookie monster. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing.
nomnomnomnomnomnomnom.

Love,
Dominique

If you didn't know, I absolutely love museums and exhibitions and whatnot. Here in the Netherlands we have some absolutely top notch museums who present the most variating exhibitions. Unfortunately this means that there's a lot to choose from. I say unfortunately because time, man, there ain't not enough! So to get a little bit on track of what's to do and what's to see where (and when, naturally), I thought it to be handy to make myself a short list of some exhibitions that've caught my eyes these past days. And my oh my, they are absolutely spoiling us!

AMSTERDAM

Eye
Jean Desmet's Dream Factory: The adventurous years of film (1907-1916)
13 December 2014 - 12 April 2015

Jean Desmet (1875-1956) is one of the first cinema operators and film distributors in the Netherlands. He opened one of the first permanent cinema in Amsterdam called Parisien. Desmet bought his films abroad. His final collection would consist of more than 900 films. In this exhibition socalled pearls of his collection will be shown on different screens. In addition there are feature films, advertising films, newsreels etc., posters, publicity material and a selection of other available documents on dispay and will be used as an example for the adventurous years of film.

Rijksmuseum
The Wardrobe of Mrs. Brusse
30 January 2015 - 31 May 2015

In 1986 and 1997 donates Mrs. Germaine Adeline Brusse-Urtebise (1903-1997) her wardrobe to the Rijksmuseum. Her closet exists, among others, out of pieces by Lanvin, Balenciaga and Chanel, and gives an unique insight into the wardrobe of a fashionable lady from a well-off environment mid-twentieth century. The arrangement can be seen in the 'special collections' section of the museum where the key-pieces of the wardrobe are on show (including not only clothes but also shoes, hats, lingerie and furniture).

Tassenmuseum Hendrikje
Happy Birthday Chanel: 60 years the 2.55
1 February 2015 - 3 May 2015

Tassenmuseum Hendrikje is the biggest bag museum in the world. The devolopment of the bag is shown from the Middle Ages to present day. In between all of this is the story of Chanel. I guess everyone by now is familiar with the woman and especially the brand Chanel. This year the "real" Chanel bag, the 2:55, has turned 60 years young. In honour of it the museum has made an exhibition showing the history of this bag and the many ways it comes in.

Rijksmuseum
Late Rembrandt
12 February 2015 - 17 May 2015

Late Rembrandt is about, as you might've deducted, the later works by Rembrandt van Rijn. Within the exhibition there are more than 100 paintings, drawings and imprints made in the last years of the masters' excistence.

"Rembrandt's later life was marked by tragic personal losses and financial setbacks. Yet he produced his best work. He experimented with colour and light and managed to bring an unprecedented emotional depth in his work. It led to his most daring and intimate work."

Rijksmuseum
Chiaroscuro in photography
12 February 2015 - 17 May 2015

Together with Late Rembrandt the Rijksmuseum has made an exhibition about the earliest photographers from their collection.

"The exhibition shows that light, shadow and lighting – as in the work of Rembrandt – play the leading role in photography."

Hermitage
Alexander, Napoleon & Joséphine: a Story of Friendship, War and Art from the Hermitage
28 March 2015 – 8 November 2015

This year it'll be 200 years ago after the battle of Waterloo. The Hermitage has decided to bring us to the period previous to this (in)famous battle with help of Napoleon Bonaparte. As the title might suggest, the exhibition will take a closer look at the relationship between him, the love of his life Joséphine and his frenemy Tsar Alexander I. This story about love and hate will be told with help from over the 200 paintings, sculptures, personal possesions, dresses and uniforms, applied arts and weapons.

Kunsthal
Wonder World: Remarkable early 20th century picture postcards
14 March 2015 - 7 June 2015

With over 500 postcards, film and photo material, the exhibition Wonder World presents an exhibition about the largely forgotten history of the postcard. The exhibition will look back at the end of the nineteenth century with glamorous divas in a world of surreal fantasies and mysterious dreams, in which theatre and irony are held high.

LEIDEN

Volkenkunde Museum
Geisha
10 October 2014 - 25 May 2015

Geisha is a world renowned (style) icon. Within the exhibition the history and life of a Geisha will be displayed. It answers such questions as: What does the daily lif of a Geisha looks like? Is it a profession or vocation? This exhibition gives you time to marvel at the mysterious lady companion as a cultural icon and lets you get familiar with the woman behind the mask.

Japanmuseum Sieboldhuis
Silk Splendour
March 6 2015 - 31 May 2015

In the exhibition Silk Splendour it's all about the kimono. Within the exhibition there'll be 16 kimonos on display made by master weaver Itchiku Kubota (1917-2003).

"Extensive dyeing procedures, 300 colours and 12 months of needlework are required to make one perfect Kubota kimono.  Each kimono is an explosion of colours, decorated with embroidery, with patterns in East Indian ink and embellished with gold leaf and silver after the 16th century traditional Tsujigahana technique."

APELDOORN
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Paleis Het Loo
Sisi: Fairytale & Reality
10 April 2015 - 27 September 2015

Sisi! The exhibition will show the confrontation between the fairytale image -created by the famous movies- and reality of the life of the famous empress Elisabeth (1837 - 1898). During her lifetime she's battled with depression, intrigues, obsessions and death. On the basis of film clips, photographs, paintings and personal belongings is Sisi's childhood, her life as empress at the Viennese court, her coronation as queen of Hungary, the obsession with her appearance and mythmaking illustrated around her person.

Have you seen an exhibition you'd recommend? Please comment below! I'm always on the look out for some dream destinations... ;)

Love,
Dominique
