When Ilse awoke that morning, it seemed to be a boring day. But when she got on the bus, as she did every day, she noticed something strange. Tony, the bus driver, turned out to be a dog. Ilse, shocked by this image, wished him a good morning (as she did every day) and hurried to a seat. Tony barked happily at the sight of her and made preperations to leave.

At the next stop Ilse got off the bus. "I've probably eaten something bad this morning," she said encouragingly to herself.

Not far from the bus stop stands the building where Ilse works. The doorman, whose name she's forgotten but doesn't dare to ask, looked at her impatiently as he held the door open for her. When she looked at the doorman and he looked back, Ilse saw a lovebird. So she speeds up her pace and walk sideways passed him.

Miriam the receptionist and good friend of Ilse, looks at her questioningly. "What a day!," Ilse said sighing. "Good morning too," Miriam said, "What's wrong?". "Everyone seems to have changed into animals!". " Uhm, Ilse, we are animals. We've been animals all our lives.". Ilse looked again closely at her friend. Two cat eyes stared back at her. In disbelief she takes a step backwards. She hesitates, but then firmly runs away . Miriam meows something after her.

Ilse, who's getting madder by the minute, goes into an office and locks the door. It does'nt matter where she looks, the animals are everywhere. She tries to think of an escape plan. She walks to the window and sees herself in the reflection. She squeezes her eyes and to her horror, a rabbit is looking back.

Dum dum duuumm

The End.

Clothes+Shoes: H&M/ Brooch: Used to be my grandma's/ Two white buttons: Bravo/ Necklace: Some weird shop in Amsterdam I've forgotten the name of/ Sunglasses: Kruitvat

My sister is learning to be a sign language interpreter. Today she told me something quite remarkable. She told me that sign language isn't international. So from country to country it differs. Even within the same country you have to encounter dialects of some kind. For example:

The Dutch sign for "Do you want to be my friend?", means in America something totally different. In America it means something among the lines of animal sex. So I said in shock, "why do they need a sign for that?!?". But then I thought about it. For biology and zookeepers this sign might come in hand. "Well", my sister said, "I thought more about 'one man, one sheep' kinda scenario".

Shirt: H&M/ Skirt: Made by my mum/ Shoes: Outlet Store

I had this really weird dream. I was at a sort of hall and a man said to me that it was a delicate question. He pointed at two poodles. One was neon pink and the other neon yellow. "The dye won't harm them physically, but it's unacceptable. They look like fools. So we must convince them. Will you lock the door please". "No", I said 1) because I don't think it's neccesary 2) because I'm claustrophobic and don't like locked doors. I didn't tell the second thing of course and stepped outside to guard the door.

Source

A girl walked passed me, trying to open the door.

Me: Sorry, you can't come in there. They are dealing with a "delicate question".
Girl: Yes, but I need to...
Me: Well, if I were you, I would try the other door. You're not aloud to come here.

The girl walks away offended by my words. I, again, guard the door with my life. But then the girl returns, she's holding a pair of neon yellow sunglasses.

Girl: Coming through! Let me through!
Me: You're still not aloud to enter.
Girl: I have something to deliver.

Before I could protest, she already went through the door. I was angry and upset at the same time. If one gets through, everyone gets through (side note: that's what dreaming me thought, not actual me). So I walked away and somewhat like a specific Doctor Who episode, the building exploded.

Source

I'm not a skilled dream analyser, but I guess my dream says something among the lines of: Nobody cares what you say or you give up to easily and therefore buildings dramatically explode...

So yeah. Weird dream.

Last week I went to Het Zuiderzeemuseum in Enkhuizen. The museum is built around the idea to preserve the "fishing culture" that lived there at the end of the 19th and beginning 20th century. They've literally moved houses as a whole from all over the country to get a pure image of the different fortresses around that time. Though, to be honest, it's very alike modern villages as Volendam... but then without the moderness of it. You can get exactly the same idea or atmosphere from real villages without them asking you to pay entree. So that was a bit disappointing.

But don't get me wrong, we had loads of fun hanging around the museum. There were actors recreating scenes that could've happened in the day-to-day life back then. They were AMAZING. Just rambling about things we have no clue off.

Besides a museumpark, there's also an "actual" museum. Unfortunately we had to run around like maniacs through it, because they were about to close for a wedding. Oh yes, I've witnessed three weddings that day.

And that's about it. The train journey was long and boring and it rained all day, so it wasn't that perfect to be outside for a long time. But I already had a cold, so... yeah.

Dress: Thrift Store/ Jacket+Socks: Zeeman/ Shoes+Bag: Primark/ Belt+Headband: Girft from my aunt

A while ago we (my dad, sis and me) went to Zandvoort. Not for the seaside, but for some classic racing. Clasic not in the sense of heroic, but classic in the sense of old cars. The thing with racing with old cars is that no one wants to go to the fullest because of their car. The car is more worth than victory and victory is not the goal they're racing for. They race because they want to be seen, not because they want to win. But, as I've learned yesterday in "Het Zuiderzee Museum" (more about that later), old things need to move. Otherwise it will deteriorate like snow for the sun.

Sometimes my brain wonders me with all the information it withholds. Like, what's 2+2 and my brain will say 4. When did Columbus discover America? 1492. What's the name of Vincent van Gogh's brother? Theo.

Me: Wow brain, you're clever.
Brain: Yeah, and I'm cute too.
Both: Yeeeaaahh...

But sometimes my brain, how shall I say this, doesn't function as effective as hoped for. Like this morning I'd forgotten my mobile phone.

Me: Brain, I think I've left my phone at home.
Brain: That's correct, but you know what? Just phone mum and she'll sort it out for you.
Me: Oh brain, what am I supposed to do without you?
Brain: I know, I'm amazing.
Me: Well, lets phone mum... brain, I can't find my phone. I think I've left it... oh wait a minute!
Brain: I'm a fool.

Dominique

Watch out CATS! No, I'm not talking about the famous broadway musical...

After various cats have lost their life by speeding, residents along this road had enough of it and thought it was time for an intervention. So they made these road signs, making the driver aware that they shouldn't drive like maniacs. It isn't really working yet. People still drive like they're Vin Diesel in the Fast & Furious series, but now with the awareness that somewhere in the world cats are judging them.

Some Sundays ago my sister and I went to a luxurious market at Paleis Soestdijk. Paleis Soestdijk used to be the home of princess Juliana and prince Bernard (the grandmother of our king). The palace now functions as a sort of exhibition space and/or for other "special" events (like a luxurious market). And oh, how luxurious this market was. A nice looking bracelet? 200 euros. Who's casually walking around with 200 euros these days?!? And who casually spends 200 euros on a bracelet on a market without assurance of compensation when something is wrong with it?

Besides that, it was a lovely day and we took the opportunity to wander around the premises.

Also, meet my new friends. Don't they look friendly and bodiless?

Now to complete this post, here are some pictures of  half-naked statues...

... and greenhouses.
